My name is Leroy Griffith jr. and I was born on the Island of Trinidad and Tobago, and I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. I am a singer/songwriter, and my artist name is Mr. Lee G. In 2009 I was performing with my band the Congo man crew in Ă…re Sweden, when I got invited to perform at the desert festival in Timbuktu, Mali. In 2011 we went to Mali, and it was my first time going to Africa. We had an awesome performance and time. The experience made me realize that I have a lot to be grateful for, coming from the USA and the caribbean. I made some friends, and decided that I would do what I can to help them. At first I used my own money to fund my projects. Then I started this non-profit 501(c)3 A Time To Give Back To Africa.
